Helga Zepp-LaRouche: Already very early in my life, I adopted the point of view of Friedrich Schiller: “Live with your century, but don't be its creature, perform for your contemporaries, but what they require, not what they praise.“ With that developed vision of a humanistic society - inspired by Schiller and Wilhelm von Humboldt - every child could have the chance of a universal education, which would allow the development of all its inherent creative potentials to a harmonious totality, to the beauty of the character. That same ideal exists in the highest expressions of other cultures, for example, the notion of the “Junzi (君子)“ in Confucianism, and therefore the basis for a dialogue on the highest level of each culture exists. In 1984, I founded the Schiller Institute, named after Schiller because of his beautiful image of Man. From the beginning, the Institute intended to combine the construction of a just new world economic order, with the idea of a renaissance of classical culture. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, we promoted the idea of the Eurasian Landbridge/New Silk Road in hundreds of conferences and seminars around the world. Today this conception of the New Silk Road in the tradition of the ancient Silk Road is the most dynamic economic system in the history of Mankind. I have worked with my husband, Lyndon LaRouche, on very concrete developnment programs for Latin America, Asia and Africa. In this context, I have worked personally with such world leaders as Lopez Portillo, Indira Gandhi, Turgut Özal, General Sani Abacha, Omar al- Bashir. I have participated in hearings in the Duma, the Sejm, the Keidanren, and various conferences organized by the governments of China, India and Mexico. I've also been working on a renaissance of the scientific and cultural traditions of Nicolas of Cusa, Kepler, Leibniz, , Beethoven, Schiller, Einstein, Vernadsky and Krafft Ehricke.
