In late 1992, The Beatnix performed I’ll Be Back live-to-air on the Ray Martin Midday Show on Channel 9 in Sydney. The musicians performing as The Beatnix on this track were Bruce Coble (myself, as “John“), Steven Shipley (as “Paul“), Marcus Phelan (as “George“) & John Taylor (as “Ringo“). This was the second Midday Show appearance for Marcus with The Beatnix in the space of a few months, & shows just how quickly he had grown into the role of George with the group. It was also a nice chance to play a Beatles tune that, while an excellent album track, was not one of the more obvious “big hits“.
