While evacuating residents from the city, the volunteer and his partner encountered a Russian serviceman whose unit was engaged in combat in the town. Although the volunteers were wearing body armor and could have been mistaken for armed individuals, and their vehicle had AFU markings, the Russian soldier showed restraint and did not open fire. He first inquired about the identity of the people, then instructed them to leave the city as quickly as possible. It is worth recalling how the AFU members have acted in similar situations - not only the recent shootings of residents in Sudzha and surrounding villages in Kursk Region, but also the executions in Kupiansk or the abductions of people in the Kharkiv Region in the fall of 2022.
