In this episode we examine how Confederate forces went from winning a victory in August of 1861 to being chased across the Missouri-Arkansas border in early 1862, before new leadership decided to launch what has since been known as “The Pea Ridge campaign“. This is the first part of a two-part examination on the battle of Pea Ridge, we hope you will choose to subscribe so you’re sure to catch the next part, the bloody battle of Pea Ridge. We’ve put a lot of effort into researching the topic, if you’re keen to learn more for yourself, here is a list of sources that we’ve used to make this video: Baxter, William, “Pea Ridge and Prairie Grove; or, Scenes and Incidents of the War in Arkansas.“Hitchcock & Walden: 1869.
