This is “Baby Scramble / Memories“ (ODG-1050), a Japanese-exclusive compilation video of the tiniest baby animals for the Victor VHD video format. “Baby Scramble“ is actually a collection of segments from a popular Japanese variety show called “TV Scramble,“ hosted by Hiroshi Kume. These sections aired individually as the “Baby of the Week“ and featured live commentary along with audience reactions (which are both missing in this recording). It's said that the “Baby of the Week“ segments were some of the most popular segments in “TV Scramble.“ Here we're presented with a never ending onslaught of cuteness with an equally adorable background soundtrack. For each section/animal, a caption appears in Japanese with the animal's or specific breed's name. NOTE: Cross-hatching artifacts may be noted along high contrast edges. This is an artifact of the TBC used to stabilize the footage and is not inherent to the original recording or post-processing after capture. NOTE 2: VHD discs have a number of quality issues, including sensitivity to scratches/long-term pressure/heat, an affinity to attract mold, etc, which can cause visual artifacts such as skipping & drop-outs along with audio artifacts.
