First written in 1968 in the time of the Armenian SSR, Yerevan-Erebuni became one of the most famous Armenian songs of the era, and is still a very popular patriotic song. It is now the official song of the city of Yerevan. I noticed that there were no Soviet-era versions of it on YouTube so with the help of Armenian Reddit, I found many recordings on Armenia Radio Archive. This version was my favorite but there are like 20 others, so take a look at them if you'd like more. To understand this song, Erebuni was the name of modern-day Yerevan in ancient times. Dvin and Ani are also ancient cities in Armenia which you can still find artifacts from. The Aras is a river in the Caucasus. -- Interkast is a non-political channel.
