The Joan Baez Suite, was composed in 2002 for Sharon Isbin and it s the last of the great folk song suites written by John Duarte. Since I gave the European premier at John Duarte's centenary celebration in King's place in London, I fell in love with the narrative of the piece and kept it in my repertoire as a musical reminder of a dear friend and a very special human being. The suite is composed by the following movements: Fantasia. Once I Had a Sweetheart; Ramble Gambler; Barbara Allen The House of the Rising Sun The Lily of the West The Unquiet Grave Silkie Where Have All the Flowers Gone? Finale. Rake and Rambling Boy; Wildwood Flower; The Trees They Do Grow High Special thanks to: -Sharon Isbin and Chris Duarte for trusting me with the work -the Nashville Guitar Society for inviting me to their 2020-2021 Guitar Masters consert series and providing the means that made this concert recording possible -the Koninkljik Conservatorium in Brussels for granding me access to its Great Hall -the video and audio engineer Stefano Vivaldini
