Built in 1965 and delivered in period popular Dubonnet Rosso, to first owners, Ford & Slater Ltd in Leicestershire, this attractive DB5, an Icon of the Aston Martin brand and the ‘swinging sixties’, is one of less than 900 built, of which approximately 670 were delivered in RHD, for the UK market. Specified with all standard equipment of the day, including the triple SU carburettor equipped 4.0 litre 6 cylinder engine coupled to a 5-speed ZF manual transmission, complemented by electrically operated windows, tinted glass and chromed wire wheels. Almost 40 years later, the full restoration of this imposing DB5 commenced in 2004. With the removal of the all alloy body from the steel chassis, the high-quality restoration included a full chassis restoration, a full mechanical rebuild including to the engine and transmission, body restoration and rebuilds to the suspension, brakes, steering and electrics.
