Chen Long is one of badmintons most successful men’s singles players. He won 27 individual titles, was world number 1 for 71 consecutive weeks, won 2 world championships, won 3 Thomas Cup (men’s team world championships) and 5 Sudirman Cup (mixed team world championships) titles, and he medalled at 3 consecutive Olympics, winning Gold in Rio in 2016! On top of this he changed the way men’s singles was played when he was at his peak! So with all of this in mind, why is so often overlooked? Why is Chen Long underrated?
