Russia seems to be in overdrive to protect its naval assets such as submarines and warships amid increasing Ukrainian drone attacks. A recent video showed Russia’s Delta-IV class nuclear ballistic missile submarine Tula sporting an armour screen. The measure, commonly known as a “cope cage,“ is fitted on top of the submarine’s conning tower to help protect against drones. Both Russia and Ukraine have been already using anti-drone measures on tanks and other armoured vehicles. However, it appears to be the first instance of this kind of add-on protection being installed on a naval vessel of any kind. The move, experts say, underscores the growing ubiquity of drone threats, something that Russia's armed forces are not alone in having to contend with. #russiaukrainewar #russia #ukraine #putin #zelensky #submarine n18oc_world n18oc_crux 0:00 INTRODUCTION 1:45 RUSSIA’S TULA SUBMARINE GETS ANTI-DRONE CAGE 4:00 SUBMARINE DECOY APPEARS ON RUSSIAN NAVAL BASE PIER CRUX is your daily video news guide to the big events that are shaping our world.
