LIVE: Macron Inaugurates Olympic Aquatic Centre in Saint-Denis, France | Paris Olympics 2024 | CNBC TV18 SAINT-DENIS, FRANCE - French President Emmanuel Macron attends the inauguration of the Olympic aquatic centre north of Paris, one of the two permanent venues built for the Paris 2024 Games. French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday that he had no doubt Russia would malevolently target the Paris Olympics this summer. “I have no doubt whatsoever, including in terms of information,“ Macron said in response to a reporter's question about whether he thought that Russia would try to target the Olympics. Macron's comments, delivered at an event in Paris for the inauguration of the new Olympics aquatic centre, represent his most explicit acknowledgment to date of foreign threats to the security or smooth running of the games. The Games will take places amid a complex global backdrop, with Russia's war in Ukraine and Israel's conflict with Hamas in Gaza complicating efforts to safeguard the Olympics. The sports complex located in Saint-Denis, not far from the Stade de France, is to be inaugurated this Thursday, April 4 by Emmanuel Macron. The Head of State will cut the ribbon on equipment built especially for the Paris 2024 Games, where it was initially scheduled to host all the events in the swimming program, with the exception of open water. Since swimming has been relocated to a temporary swimming pool at Paris La Défense Arena, in Nanterre, the CAO will host the diving and artistic swimming competitions, plus the first phase of the water polo tournament. #ParisOlympics #Macron #France #PariOlympics2024 #LiveNews #cnbctv18 n18oc_world
