See my playlist about Seidr/Galdr My online apparel/training gear shop Instagram Tiktok @norsemagicandbeliefs?lang=en An interesting example of a female practitioner of seiðr as battle-magic comes from the Liber Eliensis, which describes a witch being brought from Normandy to help William’s forces to break the siege of Ely. She is described as being seated on a platform in the middle of the army, shouting curses, casting spells and bearing her backside to the enemy. This description is incredibly similar to seidr and the seiðhjalli, or seið-platform found in the Icelandic sagas.
