new demo of this soldano SLO clone i built at home. ( drum track playing off computer speakers) following a change in the voltage dropping resistor from to (at B 2 to B 3), the preamp plate voltages are much closer to target/correct values. the tone is much smoother and punchier. (this is a clone of the overdrive/lead channel of the soldano SLO100 preamp, with a 40W power amp section, 2 x 6L6GC) [credit: wiring layout by ] NOTE: drive pedal seen in video clip is bypassed/not switched on also used: - custom 1981 ibanez blazer with dimarzio dominion bridge pickup - burgera ‘power soak’ power attenuator - mesa cab - isp decimator (rack mount version) - a terrible old iphone 6s to record video and sound [update: cabinet built in Dec2021, following the circuit completion/original upload in Mar2021]
