Curses can be intentional and unintentional and can be set into motion by an off-hand remark, a bad decision, a practitioner of the dark arts or a personal or generational trauma. In the case of a personal trauma it is believed a piece of our soul is lost. Thus, we must unravel the curse and heal the lost soul part, restoring one to wholeness and balance. Imbolc marks the recovery of the Goddess after giving birth to the God at the Winter Solstice. The lengthening periods of light awaken Her. The God is a young, lusty boy, but His power is felt in the longer days. The warmth fertilizes the Earth (the Goddess) and causes seeds to germinate and sprout.
