Making a Tilt Top Tea Table Part 2 by Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers. In the 2nd part of Making a Piecrust and Dished Top Tea Table the video shows the making of the Birdcage Mechanism that supports the top and also allows it to turn and tilt. From there we make both of the tops which are made from extremely nice pieces of solid crotch mahogany. The tops are are shaped and hand carved from the solid and are then finished with Royal Lac which is a shellac based varnish from . Hardware for the tables is from Ball and Ball Hardware.
