Presenting the segmented speedrun of Half-Life: Opposing Force in the time of 16:. The run was completed by jorik and _Smiley over the course of 662 days. The project was started on September 4 2021 and completed on June 28 2023. In fact, there were many long breaks, causing such a long working time. Even when the run was finished, the rendering work started only after a year. Technical information: * The run is done using Steampipe (pre-25th anniversary) version, BunnymodXT, hard difficulty and a lot of console and BXT scripts. Bhopcap is disabled. Not using save warps. * Version features: uncapped (1k) fps, quick switches and no tripmine collision, which does not allow us to perform worldspawn clips. * The special trick called quick switch is massively used in this run. It allows to skip weapon’s equip animation and use weapon the next frame. * The total amount of segments is 503, 13 of which are quick switches. Other quick switches are done without making a separate segment. * In some places you can see some sort of lags - this is called 4 FPS abuse. If used in a specific situation, each of them may save up to 250ms. * You may see the screen flicker while firing the M249 - this is the M249 boost script automatically doing a 180 degree turn. * At the time of publishing, some skips are known that were not used in this run due to the date of segmentation.
