Denham, Buckinghamshire. L/S of large house and garden. Tom and Reta (sic) Fairclough chat to two friends then show them “something original“ that they have at the bottom of their garden. The four friends walk through a door into a secluded courtyard. This is the most expensive pigeon loft in existence. It is home for more than 250 racing pigeons. Mrs Fairclough had the palace built when she decided to take up a new hobby when a serious illness prevented her from working. The palace cost £1,000 to build. Various shots of the interior and exterior of the pigeon loft. Shots of pigeons relaxing in luxury between races. They have a little bathing pool and air conditioning. All rather bizarre. Since Mrs Fairclough built her Pigeon Palace she hasn't had to go back to the hospital. Idea seems to be that this new hobby has improved her health. Bet her neighbours aren't particularly happy about it! FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. IT'S FU
