The Norwegian Naval Strike Missile (NSM) made by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace is seen in this test video being launched from both land and sea with excellent speed and accuracy. The missile is currently fielded by Poland and Norway and is now being picked up by the U.S. The U.S. Navy tested the Norwegian Naval Strike Missile in 2016 aboard a littoral combat ship. The Naval Strike Missile is capable of long range targeting and can destroy enemy ships at distances up to 100 nautical miles. The stealthy missile flies at sea-skimming altitude and has terrain-following capabilities to counter advanced radar detection. Additionally, the missile has been recently modified in shape to fit inside the F-35 JSF’s armament bay and rebranded as the Joint Strike Missile. It will begin serving as a longer-range air-launched naval and land strike munition, and has been successfully test lunched from an F-16 at 22,000ft.
