This comes as at least a dozen shipping lines have suspended their routes through the Red Sea due to attacks by Houthi rebel forces in Yemen. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced Tuesday in Bahrain that the U.S., Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, the Seychelles, Spain and the UK have formed the patrol force to counter Houthi attacks in the southern Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
