The BMW M family has grown. For the very first time, BMW M offers the BMW X3 M and X4 M. In this video, we’ll have a look at the driving dynamics of these cars. Under the hood, there is a newly developed six-cylinder in-line engine in two variants. The engine stands out with its familiar M high-revving character, the latest M TwinPower Turbo technology update, plus track-tested cooling and oil supply systems. It develops 353 kW/480 hp in the BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M, and an extra 30 hp in the Competition models. A peak torque of 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) is transfered by the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and catapults you to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds. The Competition models hit the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark in a mere 4.1 seconds. The M specific suspension is individually configurable for anything between maximum driving dynamics and long distance comfort. The M xDrive with active M differential also plays its part in giving the BMW X3 M, BMW X4 M and Competition models their sublime performance attributes.
