Spooky Scary Skeletons sung by two pumpkins, animated entirely in-game within Valheim. The Mechanicus has further developed it's animation technology and has immediately deployed it for the most urgent of matters, celebrating Spooktober. So how is it done? Several methods of animation are on show, ranging from easy to difficult. The easiest being the 'spinning vinyl' which is just a sharpening stone being rotated in place. Everything else is just a more complicated version of that.. The singing was by far the most complex; each mouth shape is a blueprint that is summoned into place at a precise timing. I had to scrap the first system of animation I was, based on a zoetrope, as the latency made it too imprecise to get the accuracy I wanted. After creating a much more efficient system to summon each blueprint individually and a massive excel spreadsheet to track the duration of each mouth shape, it resulted in over 7,200 characters of console-code to run the full singi
