Baby chinchillas Rippy and Momo scheme to escape their cage. Surprisingly, Rippy is just big enough to climb over the big wooden wall, and just small enough to squeeze through the cage bars. Additional security measures have since been added around the cage perimeter for the chinchilla's safety! It is important to remember that chinchillas (even babies) are great jumpers and climbers. The cage bars also need to be close enough together so that the baby chinchilla can't stick its head through them. If its head fits through the bars, its whole body will fit through them and it will escape. The chinchilla may seem too big, but don't be fooled. It's mostly just fur!
