This week, Ellie and I are in Chengwatana State Forest in Minnesota. We began by setting up our cabin amidst a buzzing forest plagued by relentless deer and horse flies. We headed out into the forest and our first stop was the Million Dollar Bridge overlooking the majestic Snake River. Of course, we couldn't resist jumping in the water. Our next destination was St. Croix State Park, where we checked out the fire tower. It provided us with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, leaving us in awe. Afterwards, we found ourselves running low on gasoline, but rather than refuel immediately, I made a decision to hike down to the mesmerizing Kettle River High Banks. After fueling up, we made our way back to the cabin, where I prepared a delicious meal of chicken fried rice. As the evening settled in, we relaxed on the porch, savoring the moment with a glass of whiskey, embracing the serenity of our surroundings.
