With recent advancements in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), it is more important than ever for English language teachers to both critically navigate this technology and teach critical thinking around GenAI use with students. This session will take a practical approach with specific examples for how English language teachers can navigate the intersection of critical thinking and GenAI in the modern language classroom. Who is it for: English language teachers and educators Speaker: Dr. Elizabeth Plummer has taught English learners and teachers in ten different countries both in person and online for more than twenty years. Her areas of specialization are in online language education, Computer Assisted Language Learning, and faculty development. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Iowa and currently is a faculty member in ESL and Bilingual Education at American College of Education.
