Virtual Reality (VR) is extensively applied in various aspects of daily life. However, real-time rendering of a realistic VR is a computationally intensive task. Hence, rendering VR exclusively on the VR headsets requires equipping them with high-performance microchips, which increases both energy consumption and cost of the headsets. The concept of cloud VR aims to address this challenge. Here, VR is pre-rendered on a cloud server and then streamed via communication networks to the headset. The headset, in turn, displays the image according to the actual user position and notifies the server of the user’s actions. Such a service architecture requires the networks to reliably deliver high-intensity VR streams with minimal latency. This talk presents the main results of a Ph.D thesis dedicated to developing methods for enhancing the quality of service for VR traffic in wireless networks. Bio: Mikhail Liubogoshchev is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications under the supervision of Dr. An
