Walter Brennan with Old Shep. The spoken word originally appeared on Side-2 of the 1960 LP Dutchman's Gold, released by the Dot Records Label. In 1965 the Dot Records Label included the track on the B-Side of a 7“ 45 RPM EP along with Back to the Farm, released for the Australia market. (The A-Side was Life Gets Tee-Jus Don't It, and Tribute to a Dog) The recording can be found on two 2000 presentations: the Leverage Records Label compilation CD Dutchman's Gold, and the Universal Special Products Records Label compilation CD Walter Brennan - Old Shep. The audio can be heard on a 2013 compilation CD titled Reminiscing With Walter Brennan, released by the Jasmine Records Label. The narration is on Old Shep - The Best of Walter Brennan, released in 2015 by the AP Music Records Label. The 2020 M & J Music Records Label CD 20 Country Greats: Walter Brennan - Old Rivers, is also home to the track. It was written by Red Foley and Arthur Willis.
