So, I have posted videos of me practicing Sonny Rollins’ “Oleo” on bass and saxophone. Here is my take on playing rhythm changes with the flute. I thank God for the opportunities to practice and refine the gift of music. It's a responsibility for all musicians . . . for our gift is not for ourselves, but rather, to bless others and make their day(s) a little better. I love Sonny Rollins's music! I've also been listening to pianists' melodic approach and harmonic substitutions to the changes, and have attempted to work them out on my instrument. In the end, it's important to find your approach . . . and to also be malleable. As a musician, one never reaches the goal; it's the process that brings satisfaction. Give thanks to God for what you have been allotted. So much to be grateful. May you have a blessed day! . . . . #Bebop #BebopFlutist #JazzFlutist #JazzFlute #LeeU100 #improv #flute #tjflutes #Oleo # @tjflutes @josevalentinomusic
