Exceptional baroque concert given by countertenor Jakub Józef Orlinski and the ensemble Il Pomo d'Oro on 21 July 2021 at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse. The program entitled “Facce d'Amore” includes 8 world premieres. Each piece tells a story that depicts the male figure in the Baroque era - and not only the positive aspects, such as the pleasure of mutual love, but also anger and even madness. Spanning a period of almost 85 years, the arias in “Facce d'Amore” are by Handel, Cavalli, Boretti, Bononcini, Conti, Locatelli, Orlandini, and others. Accompanied by the musicians of Il Pomo d'Oro – an Italian ensemble conducted by Zefira Valova – Jakub Jozef Orliński delights in performing these pieces with precision and a sense of theatricality. The countertenor has won numerous awards, including the Metropolitan Opera Singing Competition in 2016. Today, he attracts young people in droves to concert halls and opera houses and has an impressive number of followers on social media. He regularly collaborates with the musicians from the Il Pomo d'Oro ensemble and shares their passion for music.
