Equal parts propaganda efforts and industrial powerhouses, utopian “new cities“ like Nowa Huta, Dimitrovgrad, Dunaújváros, and Eisenhüttenstadt transformed the lives of tens of thousands of their citizens and left a permanent mark on their nation’s urban landscapes.
