The war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon was the subject of talks between the US Secretary of State and Arab leaders in London earlier on Friday. Antony Blinken met with the Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. Secretary Blinken said there was a real sense of urgency to reach a diplomatic resolution, in order to provide security along the border between Israel and Lebanon. Blinken called for the protection of civilians and said the safety of UN peacekeepers is essential.
