Dr Ellie Arroway Makes First Contact

Arroway finds herself on a beach and sees a figure-like mirage approaches her. She sees him resolves into her father’s form and attempts to ask him questions. Her “father“ tells her that her familiar childhood landscape and his form are used to make their first contact easier for her to understand that this journey is just a representative humankind’s first step to joining other space-faring species.
