Spike the bat gets a pat on the back

Spike the Grey-Headed Flying-Fox was caught on barbed wire 2 days ago and had his face ripped up. After surgery he was sore and tired. His carer says: “Because sometimes all you need is for somebody to pat you on the back and tell you that yes, what happened sucked, but it's going to be ok. This is Spike, last night. He was so tired and sore and after he'd had some fluids and medication, he lay quite still enjoying his back being rubbed. He's much brighter today, the i/v line is out of his arm and he's hanging and self feeding canned mandarin orange segments - really sick bats love these.“ Video by Mandi Griffith
