A playthrough of Konami's 1993 platformer for the Nintendo Game Boy, Zen: Intergalactic Ninja. Despite being very similar in concept to the NES game of the same name, Konami produced a very different game for Zen to publish for the Game Boy. It's still an action game, but there aren't any funny perspective tricks this time - which, given the comparative limits of the Game Boy's screen was probably a good idea. The entire game is played as a side-scrolling platformer with the occasional vehicle and mini-game scene tossed in. It looks and sounds great (duh, it's Konami), and the controls are tight. It's just a bit short and easy, but I really enjoyed it. And is it just me, or does this game look and feel an awful lot like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From the Sewers? Everything, right down to the graphics on the status bar at the bottom of the screen, seems pretty strikingly familiar. I'm sure both games probably were derived from the same code base, but no matter. It's hardly a bad thing to be compared to a Konami TMNT game. ______ No cheats were used during the recording of this video.
