This is the first release from Akbar Khamiso Khan's upcoming album with honiunhoni. It's the evergreen Sindhi melody, Kohyari, recorded at the Phuleli canal near Hyderabad, Pakistan. Alghoza - Akbar Khamiso Khan Dholak - Muhammad Khan Ghara - Ahmed Sheikh Tambooro - Rasool Bakhsh About the artist: Alghoza player Ustad Akbar Khamiso Khan, born in Hyderabad in 1976, is the youngest son of the late Ustad Khamiso Khan, one of the greatest Alghoza players in recorded history. Akbar himself is among the most important and innovative practitioners of the Alghoza flute today. He learnt the instrument from his father and started playing it professionally in 1998, at the age of 20, making his debut performance at the Radio Pakistan Show, 'Rang-e-Nau“. After radio, he went on to perform for television, and then for growing live audiences both in Pakistan and abroad. He made his first International debut in the year 2000, at the Global Village in Dubai. Following in the footsteps of his father, he continued to innovate on his instrument, not just in the styles, and techniques of playing, but also in terms of his repertoire, creatively cutting across forms, regional flavours, and genres of South Asian music. Today, he enchants audiences across the world with his music, which flows from his double flutes in rhythmic waves of sound.
