Lior Eitan performs the Concerto for Piccolo, Strings and Piano by Avner Dorman, live in concert with the Tel Aviv Soloists conducted by Barak Tal on November 21, 2004 at the Israel Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv. 1. Presto - 4:26 Lior commissioned the Concerto and gave its world premiere with the Israel Camerata, Avner Biron conducting, on March 6th, 2001 at the Henry Crown Hall in Jerusalem. He gave the US premiere of the Concerto at the invitation of the National Flute Association as a Headliner at its 2005 Annual Convention in San Diego, California. The Concerto was composed in 2001. It is dedicated to Lior and published by G. Schirmer. Lior, Solo Piccolo of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, now in his twenty-fifth season with the IPO, regularly commissions Israeli composers to write music for solo piccolo and arranges traditional repertoire for piccolo including works by Tchaikovsky, Weber and Telemann. He has recently commissioned three more concerti from other Israeli composers.
