Scheming and manipulation was something essential in the existence of the G-Man. Due to his skills his employers put him forth in the political spectrum of interference against the Universal Union (Combine). Since information was something that he always had, the plan of Earth's Combine forces luring him into a trap was an easily foreseeable trap. Question was how he'd profit or take advantage of the upcoming situation. Therefore he held a meeting with the other G-Men of the past, so they could come up to a plan that would inflict as much damage to the Union and yield profit for their employers to the furthest extent possible. The prison cell was just in front of them and they all knew how it had to play out, while the risks it had with itself were great, yet the reward even greater. They needed a replacement for Gordon Freeman who had become a volatile asset no longer capable of doing the tasks laid before him. A new hire, Alyx Vance, proved to be a very accurate choice. A
