Cricket match. Location of events unknown / unclear. MS unidentified team walking out onto pitch. MS two batsmen walking out. Various shots of cricket match in progress (not very clear). MS team walking out again. A Pathe viewer has suggested that this looks like a match being played at the Oval, with Battersea power station in the background. It is likely to be the annual Gentlemen v Players match, where England's best Amatuer cricketers took on the Professionals. At the start of the footage we see the Amatuers descending the pavillion steps onto the field. The last Amatuer to take the field with the moustache is Percy Fender. The blonde haired amatuer smiling at the camera looks like Lionel Tennyson. We then see the two Players batsmen walk along in front of the pavillion before going onto the pitch. Traditionally, Gentlemen changed in better facilities and entered the arena via the grand entrance while the Players entered from their more modest changing facilities.
