This leaked beta of Marathon was mainly testing the engine's support for non-orthogonal walls (as viewed from above — being a engine, walls could only ever be orthogonal to the floor, but being non-orthogonal to each other was an advancement over the Pathways into Darkness engine). Weapons do not display on-screen and there are no enemies, just a maze to navigate. This video gives you the entire crash-prone experience of running the beta, with frequent stops at the MacsBug debugger screen. Note that there is no wall-player collision in this build and passing through a wall crashes the beta, which is why I am moving so tenderly and avoiding tight spaces. It's generally impossible to even make it down the stairs without crashing.
