Revolutionary, Commissioner of the Polish government in the Grodno and Wilno voivodeships during the January Uprising against the Russian Empire in 1863 – 1864. National hero of Poland, Belarus and Lithuania, a journalist and a lawyer. Was hanged for organising the uprising, burial place unknown.
