Dozens of Hindu activists hold a cow urine party in the Indian capital, believing it will to protect and cure them from the coronavirus, Saturday, March 14. As countries around the world struggle to control the deadly pandemic, many in the Hindu-majority nation of 1.3 billion consider cows sacred and some, in recent years, have made several unverified assertions about cow urine being an elixir, claims that critics have rejected as quackery. Governments and scientists have yet to announce a medicine or vaccine to protect or cure the infection. India has virtually shut itself off from the world in an effort to contain the spread of coronavirus as it suspended entry for foreign nationals for a month, except for those from a handful of categories.
