The Forest Howls at Dusk was one of my favourite albums of last year, with its wooded melodies and misty raw atmospheres, and it is an album that still has a place in my regular listening. So, it is with great pleasure that I present a new release from this shadowy project, emerging from the depths of the Welsh woodlands in hues of twilight jade, with a split EP of two centrepiece black metal tracks, cloistered by richly enchanting medieval dungeon synth. There is a tangible legendary mysticism to this release, as the opening Sourcerior track sets a scene of ancient rituals, a procession of ghosts leading the listener back to a time of arcane superstition, before Ysbrydnos takes to the brutal task at hand, delivering the savage blows of violently clattering rhythms and gnashing riffs, after which the protagonists depart through the luminous anagogic portal of Sourcerior’s closing piece. The EP is self-released by Ysbrydnos, available from the Bandcamp today (Bandcamp Friday!!) https:/
