Airdate: October 27, 1973 Once a month, in the ‘73-‘74 season of American Bandstand, Dick Clark would do an outdoor special called “Action” which replaced that week’s episode of Bandstand. “Action ‘73/‘74” was taped on the beaches near Malibu and Leo Carillo, CA. This episode aired nearly 3 months before the DeFranco’s appearance on “Jack Benny‘s 2nd Farewell Special” (January 24, 1974) shown elsewhere on YT. “Heartbeat…” is at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 today and will peak at #3 in 3 weeks. The DeFranco family were discovered by the editor of “Tiger Beat” magazine while living in Welland, Ontario, Canada.
