ARTLAB6 “Molecular Informatics - morphogenic substance via eye tracking” / March 30 - April 7, 1996@Hillside Plaza (Daikanyama, Tokyo) / Artist: Seiko Mikami / Co-produced with Canon ARTLAB / Co-curators: Kazunao Abe, Yukiko Shikata Canon ARTLAB (1990-2001) was the cultural support program by Canon Inc., to produce new work of media art by the collaboration between artists and Canon’s computer engineers to show at the “ARTLAB” exhibition. Produced totally 17 exhibitions, including “Prospect” exhibitions to invite works from abroad. Many works were upgraded and shown internationally. ARTLAB took a unique and important role in pioneering “Digital Art” “Media Art” in 1990s. ARTLAB collaborated with Seiko Mikami at ARTLAB5 “Molecular Clinic 1.0 on the Internet” (1995-1996), followed by ARTLAB6 “Molecular Informatics - morphogenic substance via eye tracking” (1996) (Both work share the word “Molecular”, extracted by Mikami from Bio Informatics).
