The Blue Line is the evidence of a truce called the armistice agreement between Lebanon and Israel following a U.N Security Council resolution in the year 2000. Since then, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, UNIFIL has maintained a fair amount of peace by governing the Blue Line. The region already suffers from a pretty volatile geopolitical situation, with Western powers directly or indirectly backing Israel, and the Middle-eastern countries rallying around a fellow Islamic state.
