Movie includes Voice Over for accessibility. InnoMake has been engineered to help people with visual impairments, elderly people as well as rescue organizations in their everyday life. The complete system is built into the shoe and contains distance measurement sensors, sensors to analyze the foot movement, a vibration motor for tactile feedback, an ultra bright LED as well as a wireless communication link to a mobile phone. The system is water and dust resistant and is attached to the front part of the shoe. As soon as the InnoMake detects an obstacle, the user is notified in a preconfigured manner. The feedback can be acoustic, tactile or visual. The acoustic feedback is played over the mobile phone and can be comfortably heard with bone conduction headphones, without blocking nearby sounds. The vibration feedback is directly perceptive in the inside of the shoe such that the InnoMake can be used without headphones. The visual impulses are sent out over the LED and can give visually impaired users additional support in the dark. The type of feedback and the corresponding intensity, as well as the measured range can be configured with a mobile phone app.
