Meteor causes blue and purple light to illuminate the sky over Australia

A slight panic was caused after a meteor lit up the outback sky with blue and purple streaks of light before leaving a rumble that reminded some residents of an earthquake. Northern Territory received reports on Sunday night of a large ’fireball’ flying across the sky between Alice Springs and Tennant Creek just after midnight.
