Colin Sankey - Get Lucky by Daft Punk Solo Bass Arrangement

This is my solo bass solo rendition of Get Lucky by Daft Punk ft. Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers. I utilize a lot of tapping and slapping in this cover. I've been working on this arrangement since 2017, and in April 2023, I finally decided to record it! This is a live cover; what you're hearing is the audio that I was recording while the video was filming - in other words, the audio and video take are the same, no syncing/playback. I slapped the bass at 1 AM near Burrard SkyTrain Station in Vancouver. My hands were freezing! I had to go into the car after every take and blast the AC and rub my hands together next to it in order to get enough feeling in my fingers to play. But after a long night where we were removed from the waterfront by security and setting up and taking down our makeshift studio all over downtown Vancouver, we finally got a sick take before I had to fly out to Anaheim for NAMM the next day.
