Meet the REAL Severum; Heros severus. There are 5 species in the Heros genus: severus, efasciatus, natatus, spurius, and liberifer. Our 300 gallon office display features a group of 3 pairs of H. severus in peak condition with a dominant pair that spawns regularly. We obtained this stunning group of wild specimens from our Colombian expedition back in 2013. Check out the latest spawn as the pair removes their fry from the aquarium glass and carefully places them within the rock work for protection. Thumbnail photo credit: Oliver Lucanus ()
