The giant Achatina snail (lat. Achatina fulica) is the largest land mollusk. Since the end of the 18th century, these huge (up to 30 cm) snails have spread widely across the tropical and subtropical latitudes of the planet. On the African continent, as well as in the forests of South-East Asia, where these African snails now live, after they were introduced here, they live on tree trunks. Harmless and very helpful young Achatina - they eat decaying parts of plants. Adult Achatina hurt most of the cultural plants, especially bananas and citrus. Now, Achatina brought in many countries. They are grown in terrariums, as well as in gardens. In addition, in some countries they are eaten. In France, in 1977, the achatine snails were imported for the amount of up to 3 million dollars. Breeding Achatina successfully promotes its hyperglobalist and rapid growth.
