To have an autosomal recessive disorder, you inherit two mutated genes, one from each parent. These disorders are usually passed on by two carriers. Their health is rarely affected, but they have one mutated gene (recessive gene) and one normal gene (dominant gene) for the condition. Epistasis occurs when one gene is able to mask the phenotype of another gene. ... Dominant epistasis is when only one allele of the gene that shows epistasis can mask alleles of the other gene. Recessive epistasis is where two alleles have to be inherited in order for the phenotype of the second gene to be masked. #genetics #recessiveTrait #dominantTrait #DNA #gene #Allele #pedigree #inheritance
